Carhartt Camouflage:
A Heritage Study
A physical installation exploring the evolution of Carhartt camouflage; from early archive pieces to modern interpretations.
This project was created to showcase the history and evolution of camouflage within Carhartt.
Starting with one of the brand’s earliest camo pieces; a 1972 jacket from the archive—the installation walks through key patterns and moments that helped shape how camouflage has been used across the product line over time.
Each piece is paired with its corresponding pattern and supporting information, allowing the story to move from original inspiration to more modern interpretations. The layout was designed to feel clear and structured, letting the product and pattern take the lead while still guiding the viewer through the timeline.
Installed within the design building at Carhartt’s headquarters, the display serves as both an internal reference and a visual reminder of how heritage continues to influence current product design.
